Piranha Download

Piping design, automated. Fittings, cut lengths, weld numbers and shop drawings, done for you.

Lay out a run and Piranha does the rest, sized from the ASME tables. No hand takeouts, no counting welds, no redrawing when the route changes.

Route

This table is the design. Change a run and the drawing follows.

Add a run toward

Live isometric of the route Isometric spool drawing.
A working sketch of Piranha’s route table. NPS 4 Sch 40 with long-radius elbows, center to end A = 6.00 in (ASME B16.9 Table 6.1-1), and Class 150 raised-face weld-neck flanges, face to weld end 3.00 in (B16.5 Table 8C). Cuts are nominal with no root gap. The app adds valves, branches, reducers and the rest of the sizes and classes the tables list.

One route. The whole drawing set.

  1. Route

Lay out runs as moves: east, north, up. Set sizes, schedules and flange class for the line. Insert valves, tees and flange sets into a pipe; the downstream end stays where it was.

  2. Fit

Elbows go in at every change of direction. Takeouts come from the standard’s own tables, so the cut lengths already account for every fitting.

  3. Issue

Piranha prints the set from one compiled model, ready for the shop and the inspector.

Spool isometrics

A dimensioned iso for each spool, ballooned to the piece marks on its bill of materials.

Bill of materials

Every fitting, flange and valve counted, pipe totalled by length per spec, and a cut list giving each piece its cut length and end prep.

Weld map and weld list

Every joint numbered, with AWS A2.4 symbols, typical joint details, examination and PWHT entries.

Dimensional detail

A true-scale detail toleranced per ASME Y14.5 from a flange datum reference frame.

STEP model

The same solids the drawings come from, ready for any CAD package. Bring vendor valves back in as STEP.

Dimensions come from the table, or not at all.

Piranha does not interpolate. When a standard has no row for a size, schedule or class, it says so and tells you why, instead of drawing something that looks right.

NPS 22Sch 40

Not available. ASME B36.10M Table 1 lists no Schedule 40 wall for NPS 22.

Works without an account
Design, import and export locally. Your projects stay on your machine.
Insert in a pipe
Double-click a pipe to drop in a valve, fitting or flange set. The run shortens to fit and the whole insertion undoes in one step.
Bend and miter checks
Enter design conditions and wall evidence; B31.3 checks report each limit, and stay marked unqualified until the evidence is there.
Vendor parts
Import a valve or instrument as STEP, confirm its ports, and route it like a catalog part.
